They found shelter and hope: the story of the Bahrii family
The Bahrii family came to our Hope and Healing Center, fleeing the occupation. Their village came under the power of the Russians very quickly. At first, Nataliia and her husband did not even think of going anywhere. They continued to work on their land, waiting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, constant shelling and threats from the Russian military forced the family to leave their home in the South in search of a safer place to live.
Bahriis had a hard time in the occupation. Constant searches, threats, and forcing them to cooperate with the enemy became a real test. It was also hard to save daughters from Russian education – the occupation authorities put pressure on parents in every possible way about Russian schools. But the most terrible was the shelling, which became more frequent and extensive.
Nataliia learned about our organization from a friend and that Save Ukraine helps people leave the occupation. The woman took the contacts and wrote in our chatbot. So, our volunteers helped the family to leave for Ukraine. The family is now in the Hope and Healing Center, where they get comprehensive support and assistance.
Save Ukraine provides the family with necessary medical assistance, psychological rehabilitation, and social support. Little Liliia, Nataliia’s daughter, needs treatment for a genetic vision problem and a birth injury, while her elder sister needs consultation and kidney treatment. The foundation makes every effort to restore the family’s confidence in the future and allow them to start a new life.
The history of the Bahrii family shows that even in the most challenging situations, there are people ready to back you. If you or your relatives are in trouble because of the war, contact Save Ukraine for help.
Together, we will overcome hard times! Support the Save Ukraine Fund and help save even more Ukrainian families.
