The whole world should hear the story of 16-year-old Vitaly Vertash.

Immediately after our team returned the boy from the territory of the Russia during the 4th rescue mission, he managed to tell us about everything he experienced in Yevpatoria. The young Ukrainian was taken there by the Russians from Kherson region under the pretext of evacuation and psychological rehabilitation. Vitaly ended up in a re-education institution for Ukrainians, where he spent several of the worst months of his life.

Every word in the interview was emotionally very difficult for the boy. However, it couldn’t be otherwise. He was in the midst of Ukrainian haters, in the midst of propaganda, pressure, intimidation and even violence. Vitaly heard the screams of a 13-year-old girl who was raped by camp counselors. He saw how children with a pro-Ukrainian position were beaten with iron sticks. And he himself experienced prolonged emotional violence from the Russians just because he is Ukrainian.

Fortunately, we managed to prevent another irreparable crime against the boy. Before his rescue, the administrators of the camp in Crimea announced to young Ukrainians about the next move to Pskov with further adoption. They explained it like this: “You will be the children of Russia.” It is good that the mothers took their children from the aggressor’s clutches in time. Now Vitaliy and more than a hundred little Ukrainians, whom we managed to bring back from the Russia, are back at home.

We are grateful to Vitaly for the fact that he had the courage to tell about the numerous crimes of the Russians against our children. Because every conscientious citizen of this world should know about them in order to jointly bring to justice all the guilty parties and prevent genocide in the future.
