When a child draws nothing at all — it still means something
In post-conflict recovery work, children’s drawings are not just pictures — they are a form of communication.
For children rescued from occupation or frontline zones, art therapy becomes one of the few safe ways to express emotions that cannot yet be spoken.
At Save Ukraine, our psychologists use evidence-based art therapy methods to assess children’s emotional states and help them gradually rebuild a sense of safety and trust. A blank page, a few chaotic lines, or a simple drawing can reveal far more than words — and guide our specialists in planning each child’s individual recovery path.
This approach is part of our comprehensive psychosocial support system, helping tens of children each month move from survival to stability.
