We use projective methods to help children
For children, drawing is not just entertainment. It’s a way to express their emotions and communicate what they often can’t openly tell adults.
Psychologists at our center use the drawing method as part of the project ‘Complex psychological assistance to children and families affected by war’. It helps better understand the child’s condition. A simple children’s drawing can tell about the children’s worries and psychological state even though they don’t realize it or are afraid to talk about it to adults.
Such information helps psychologists provide more effective help to children and their families who have survived the horrible experience of war.
Consultations are held within the program ‘Complex Psychological Assistance to Children and Families Affected by War’ of the USAID project ‘Development of a sustainable public health system’ with the support of PACT. The program is to provide psychological support to displaced adults and children who have survived traumatic experiences.
