Ways to Rescue Ukrainian Children Discussed in Washington
The Save Ukraine delegation, led by Mykola Kuleba, together with Ambassador Lisa Gable, the teams of Displaced International and Razom for Ukraine, as well as activists and public figures, discussed one of Russia’s gravest war crimes—the deportation of Ukrainian children.
These organizations provide humanitarian aid, support internally displaced persons and war-affected Ukrainians, and advocate for policy changes while promoting cultural initiatives in Ukraine and abroad.
During the “Rescuing Ukraine’s Children” event, Ksenia Koldin shared her own story. She and her younger brother were brought back from Russian deportation by our team. Ksenia`s experience serves as a stark reminder to the world: thousands of Ukrainian children are still waiting to be rescued.
Every day, our team fights to bring each abducted child home. Russia changes their names, erases their national identity, and forces them to forget who they are. But we know the truth: they are not orphans. They are Ukrainian children who must be reunited with their families.
We call on the international community to act—through pressure, sanctions, and legal action—anything that can help return our children to Ukraine.
Every rescued child is a step toward justice. And justice will only be served when all abducted children are back in the arms of their loved ones.
