Last night, our 13th rescue mission was completed, within the framework of which we rescued 7 more children from the clutches of the occupiers.
Two of them are orphans. They are 17-year-old Sasha and Ulyana, who live with their grandmother. Living conditions for Ukrainian orphans under occupation have become unbearable. The Russian military threatened to take the children away, and the family turned to Save Ukraine for help. Unfortunately, the grandmother was unable to leave the house due to her health condition. We helped the children to go and put them under the care of their older sister in one of the E.U. countries. Of course, we will not abandon the children and will support them in every way possible.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 4-year-old Milana’s mother took her to her great-grandmother’s house, thinking she would be safer there. But the village is still under occupation, and the Russian military has already come to take the child. Since Tetiana serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defends our country from the enemy, she could not leave. And even if she had, it would have been a one-way ticket. That’s why her grandmother went to get the girl. It is a great honor for our team to help military personnel bring their children home.
All 7 children are now safe with their families. The mother finally hugged her daughter, whom she had not seen for almost 2 years. All of them are facing a long process of recovery from their experiences under occupation. All of them are witnesses to Russia’s war crimes and undoubtedly victims of its criminal genocidal policy—more details to come.
In total, within the framework of 13 rescue missions, the Save Ukraine team helped 14 children and their families escape from the enemy. Over the entire period, this is 211 rescued Ukrainian children.
P.S. The names of the children have been changed for security reasons.
