The children at Save Ukraine’s Community Center in Zaporizhzhia recently received a wave of special gifts, thanks to our partners at Kolo Nordic. This event was part of the larger Christmas Campaign, an initiative dedicated to bringing the holiday spirit to places where war tries to steal it away.

Today, Zaporizhzhia remains one of Ukraine’s most dangerous regions. Children here live under the constant shadow of air raid sirens and the daily sound of explosions. For our young ones from vulnerable backgrounds, every moment of joy is a vital escape—a chance to disconnect, if only for a moment, from the harsh realities of life near the front lines.

What made this day truly special was that the children got to choose their own gifts. Their eyes lit up with pure excitement as they unboxed exactly what they had been wishing for: high-quality headphones and speakers, remote-controlled robots, LEGO sets, smartwatches, art kits, sweets, and many other surprises.
