“Iron Change” is a new social and educational project of Ukrzaliznytsia and Save Ukraine. Its implementation became possible thanks to the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation this week. The financial partner of the project is Howard Buffett, a well-known American philanthropist and one of Ukraine’s biggest friends who has been supporting our people almost from the first days of the full-scale invasion. It is his foundation that has already provided nearly $200 million in assistance to our country, including projects to support Ukrainian farmers, demining the de-occupied territories, and building a kitchen factory in Bucha, Kyiv region, as part of the school nutrition reform.

The goal of the Iron Shift project is to create a powerful modern system for preparing young people and children for life, study and work in wartime for boys and girls. The program envisages the creation of a special center that will be engaged in sports and patriotic training of children and adolescents for their future adult life, in which they will be the ones to rebuild a free, strong, and happy Ukraine.

Today, as part of the new project, the first shift of the mobile teenage camp in 2023 is starting. The participants of this shift are children who were rescued from occupation and deportation by the Save Ukraine team. The children will have a personal meeting with Howard Buffett, psychological trainings, intellectual and sports activities, military tactics and leadership training, swimming in the pool, excursions, movies, eco-school, a pottery workshop, and many other activities. The changeover is going to be very intense and interesting.

And this is just one of the first steps towards rebuilding our country after this bloody war. We believe that together we will be able to prepare our own iron shift.
