How to help parents find resources and support during difficult times
Being a mom or dad is a great joy, but it also comes with many challenges — especially during wartime. Stress, uncertainty, and constant care for a child can be exhausting and leave parents drained. That’s why, at our Early Intervention Center, we’ve created a space where parents can get support, restore their balance, and discover new ways to care for their children.
One of the key areas of our work is running intensive sessions for parents. These practical workshops help them cope with emotional challenges, build self-support skills, and regain the strength needed to care for their little ones.
Last month, we held the following activities for parents:
🧘♀️ Yoga for moms and babies — helps maintain health, strengthen the bond between mother and child, find balance, relieve tension, and enjoy a moment of rest.
📖 AI-powered fairy tale therapy — together with their children, parents created unique stories featuring their kids’ favorite characters. This activity nurtures creativity, imagination, and communication skills.
We also taught moms how to recognize emotional burnout, let go of guilt for feeling tired, and find resources for self-care. Parents learned about psychological support techniques that help manage stress and provide a sense of safety to their children.
These activities allow parents to connect with like-minded people, feel supported, and gain valuable knowledge. After all, strong, informed parents are the foundation of a happy childhood.
We thank the Government of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands for supporting our center. Together, we are creating a space where parents regain their strength — and children get the best conditions to thrive!
