He didn’t respond to his name: How Early Intervention changed the life of 3-year-old Sasha
Just a few months ago, three-year-old Sasha did not respond to his name and would suddenly run away from his mother during walks. He avoided eye contact, could not focus even for a short time, and struggled with everyday routines. Mealtimes were stressful, and going outside meant constant fear of losing him.
His mother felt that something was wrong. That is when she reached out to our Early Intervention team.
Together, we built a clear and gentle plan of support. Our specialists worked side by side with the family, integrating therapeutic approaches into Sasha’s daily life and familiar environment. Step by step, small changes began to appear.
Today, Sasha eats calmly at the table. He holds a spoon and a cup on his own. He responds when his name is called and looks into people’s eyes. Walks are no longer a race after a frightened child. Now he holds his mother’s hand and walks beside her.
For our team, this is what early intervention means. Timely support, patience, and trust can change a child’s everyday life and restore a family’s sense of safety and hope. One small step at a time, children gain skills that once felt out of reach.

We are deeply grateful to the Government of the Netherlands, represented by the Ambassador of the Netherlands, and to our cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Thanks to this support, we are creating a space where children can grow and parents receive the help they need.
