When communication with horses heals and inspires
Thanks to Save Ukraine’s early intervention program, displaced families from Irpin joined a hippotherapy course at the “Spirit” rehabilitation center.
Hippotherapy is a unique rehabilitation method that improves children’s physical and psychological well-being through interaction with horses.
How exactly does this therapy help our little ones?
🔹 Physical development. Horse riding helps strengthen muscles, improve balance, and coordination. It is especially beneficial for children with musculoskeletal disorders, as it enhances posture, strength, and flexibility.
🔹 Emotional stability. Interacting with horses helps reduce stress and anxiety, while boosting self-confidence.
🔹 Motivation to grow. The sessions encourage children to achieve new goals, broaden their experiences, and spark interest in new hobbies.
🔹 Social skills. Through interaction with horses, therapists, and peers, children learn to express emotions and communicate, helping them better integrate into society.
🔹 Cognitive development. Children practice focusing, analyzing situations, and reacting quickly to changes — all of which stimulate intellectual growth.
After just a few sessions, both children and parents felt a wave of positivity and the healing effect of hippotherapy. To make recovery even more comfortable, we arranged free transportation for families to the rehabilitation center.
Step by step, we’re helping improve children’s well-being during the war and bring joy back into the lives of Ukrainian families!
