Day of beauty for Olena and Stefaniia from Kharkiv
Rebuilding well-being after experiencing war is not just about psychological rehabilitation and comfortable living. It’s also about reviving dreams and the little things that make us happy. That’s why our ‘Hope and Healing’ center team in Gatne organized a beauty day for Olena and her 11-year-old daughter Stefania, whom we evacuated from Kharkiv.
Olena, who had a stroke, was already in a wheelchair when the war started. But this strong-willed woman continued to fight for her children’s future and her own health, even in such a seemingly helpless situation. Today, Olena can finally relax and spend time caring for herself with her daughter. Save Ukraine specialists gave the girls beautiful hairstyles and makeup and arranged a small photo session. They ended the day with a delightful tea party with cake.
Seeing the girls’ happy faces is the best result of our work. Step by step, we are restoring their belief that life goes on.
