Chef and restaurateur from Washington visited our daycare centers
Chef and restaurateur from Washington, founder of the World Central Kitchen Charitable Organization, partner and friend of Save Ukraine Chef Jose visited our daycare centers!
Chief Jose expressed a desire to discover more about our activities and support the Save Ukraine mission to help families and children affected by the war. That’s why we gave our wonderful guest and his team a big tour of Save Ukraine centers so that Chief Jose could see with his own eyes how we are restoring the mental state of IDP families after the most terrible experience in their lives.
First, we visited our new family center in Irpen, where the guests found out about each service we provide to our wards, as well as the influence of this support on the local community of Irpin. He quickly found a common language with Ukrainian children and showed them hospitable attention. Therefore, our wards were not left without pleasant gifts from the chief. We also showed our partners the modular houses that we provide for long-term housing to Ukrainian families who have lost their homes as part of the Fort Home project.
The next point in our excursion was the “Hope and Healing” Center in Kyiv. Here, the World Central Kitchen team had the opportunity to personally communicate with the families we evacuated from the country’s hotspots and continue to care for. Chief Jose was incredibly impressed with the communication with the families who managed to survive such terrible events and dared to step forward. At the end of the meeting, our little wards touched the benefactors with their gifts – drawings they created during art therapy classes.
It was a very emotional and productive meeting. We are grateful to Chef Jose and his team for supporting our mission and for partnership and friendship!
