Dream, learn, repeat: British Council launches an English course for 40 Save Ukraine’s children
Together with the British Council, Save Ukraine launched an English-language course for 40 Ukrainian kids freed from Russian captivity.
The youngest student is just 6. But that doesn’t stop a curious cat like him from learning English online with great interest. All thanks to the unique course that’s been partially gamified and has plenty of interesting kids-oriented material for children to deep-dive into.
By catering to children and their needs, the teachers also manage to pull at their heartstrings as they continue to recover from the forcible deportation to Russia.
Before embarking on this course, the children were asked to complete an entry test, which
helped gauge their English fluency and tailor the material in line with their needs.
For us, the safety of children is paramount. So, Save Ukraine made sure that all of the participants have access to cozy shelters that you can move to fast and easy whenever the air raid sirens go off.
At the end of the course, all children will receive certificates, proving their English fluency. This will help them attain all their goals in the future.
We are immensely grateful to the @britishcouncil as well as the His Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for making the Ukrainian children’s dreams come true through the project “Rehabilitation of Ukrainian children returned from Russian deportation.”
