7 children & teenagers rescued from occupation last week
7 children and teenagers were rescued from occupation by the Save Ukraine team last week. This became possible thanks to the support of partners within the framework of the President of Ukraine’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA. All of them went through pressure, humiliation, and attempts at forced “re-education,” but now they are finally safe.
Among those rescued:
🔹 19-year-old Viktor, who can now sleep in silence without flinching at the buzzing of drones over the roof. For several years, the young man lived in a frontline area under constant shelling, cut off from communication. The final straw came when an enemy shell landed in a neighboring yard and shattered the windows in his room with the blast fragments. Today, he is finally happy that he can continue his studies at a Ukrainian educational institution without obstacles.
🔹 18-year-old Dmytro, whom the Russian authorities tried to conscript into the ranks of the Russian armed forces, despite his serious health problems. One of the officers told him directly: “How long are you going to keep studying? Go fight in the war!”
🔹 6-year-old Nika, who was forced to march in kindergarten under the supervision of armed guards. Her mother dreamed of saving her daughter from propaganda and enrolling her in a Ukrainian school.
🔹 18-year-old brothers Marko and Mykhailo, who lived every day with the risk of being forced into the enemy’s army. Several of their peers were taken into the Russian army directly from exams or university assessments. To avoid this fate, the brothers had to hide and secretly study online at a Ukrainian institution. Now the brothers are on free land. They are already planning their education and dream of working in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to rescue others.
These and two other children whom we rescued last week have already received a chance for a new life. All of them are currently staying in our Hope and Healing Centers, where they receive psychological support, help with documents, housing, and care — everything they need to regain peace and childhood.
However, thousands of Ukrainian children still remain trapped. The enemy is increasing pressure, introducing year-round conscription, and making return routes increasingly dangerous. But we will not stop.
🙏 We thank our partners Wladimir Klitschko, WeAreAllUkrainians, The Humanity Funds, and the Joint Center for Coordination of Search and Release — together we are bringing Ukrainian children home.
Thanks to Save Ukraine, more than 1,000 children are already back home.
