+3 More Children Rescued from Occupation
Last week, our team successfully rescued three more Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territory. The rescue mission was carried out under the initiative of the President of Ukraine — Bring Kids Back UA.
Among them is 5-year-old Ivan, the son of a Ukrainian serviceman. A recent raid and threats with weapons by Russian soldiers traumatized the boy so deeply that he stopped speaking. For over a year, he couldn’t even say the word “mom.” When Russian soldiers began threatening to shoot the entire family unless they accepted Russian passports, Ivan’s mother and grandmother decided to flee with him.
Svitlanka was only one year old when Russian soldiers detained her father for interrogation, threatened him, tortured him, and then forced the family to leave their home. But even after relocating, they were raided again — their communication was cut off and all documents confiscated. When the occupation authorities found out the girl still had a Ukrainian birth certificate, they began threatening to take her away and send her to an orphanage.
We also helped reunite 13-year-old Oksana with her mother. Her father was deeply afraid that Russian forces would take his daughter to one of the checkpoints. So our team had to find the safest possible route to evacuate her.
Thankfully, today these children and their families are safe. Thanks to Save Ukraine, they managed to escape the grip of the occupiers and now have a chance at a normal life.
We sincerely thank WeAreAllUkrainians, the Humaniti Charitable Foundation, and Reload Love for helping rescue these children. We will keep fighting for every Ukrainian child held under Russian occupation.
