The tragic story of the Krajevski family
Before the war, Mrs. Maria lived peacefully in the village, grew vegetables, and raised four sons and a daughter. However, the peaceful life was destroyed forever by the Russian occupation. Several times, invaders came to their house with searches, looking for four pistols, broke the bed, scattered things from the closets, and made a complete mess. And all because two of her sons served in the Armed Forces.
In September 2022, the Russians threatened to evict the family from their home if they did not issue Russian passports. So they said: “Pack your things and leave.” Once, a drunk Russian soldier brutally hit Maria with the car right in the middle of the street. The woman received serious injuries — a fractured pelvis, arms, and bruised lungs. The criminal wanted to escape the accident scene, but, fortunately, he was not allowed to do so.
But the most grief in the family happened in January, on the birthday of the youngest Borys. The son rode his bicycle to the godfather for half an hour and never returned alive. His lifeless body was found on the road next to his bicycle, apparently after being shot by a Russian drone. The Russians did not call for help for a long time.
The family had to evacuate first to relatives in another occupied city, and thence Krajevski contacted Save Ukraine to leave for the controlled territory of Ukraine. Here, Maria will finally be able to meet her military sons and continue her treatment. Our team will be around to help the family return to a peaceful life after all the losses.
