The story of great Ukrainian-Japanese friendship
The story of great Ukrainian-Japanese friendship and assistance to Save Ukraine began last summer when the children from two of our Hope and Healing centers participated in a Japanese charity event.
Thirteen children, accompanied by our art therapist, showcased their incredible talents by creating wonderful motanka dolls following ancient Ukrainian traditions. These products, along with 140 motanka dolls crafted by other Ukrainian artisans, were featured at a unique charity exhibition in Japan called ‘100 Motanka Dolls for Peace.’
The event raised funds to support Ukrainian children and families affected by the war. With the funds raised, the project’s implementer, Ms. Anna Inoue from Aitsugi Japan, supported our “Hope and Recovery” center in Hatne and purchased the necessary materials for the team of psychologists working with children.
However, the exhibition’s visitors appreciated our craftsmen’s works so much that donations continue to pour in.
However, our Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation did not end there. And on the occasion of St. Nicholas Day, Ms. Anna organized a master class on making Christmas candlesticks for the children of our center in Hatne. Once again, the children became creators of beauty, crafting their Christmas decorations with special anticipation of the holiday. This event provided little Ukrainians not only with beautiful home decorations but also inspired them to believe in miracles before the start of the new year.
We extend our gratitude to everyone supporting the work of the Save Ukraine team in assisting children and families affected by the war.
