The path to safety: Yuliia’s story
This is Yuliia from Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. Her partner, a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, went missing. When the full-scale invasion began, the frontline rapidly approached her hometown. The closer the fighting got, the greater the pain and uncertainty became. Yuliia didn’t know what tomorrow would bring, but she knew one thing for sure—she had to save her son.
When the evacuation started, Yuliia didn’t hesitate. First, her family reached Kramatorsk, and from there, they arrived at our Hope and Healing Center. Later, she had the opportunity to move into a modular home in the Khmelnytskyi region through the Fort Home program. There, her family had everything they needed to feel safe and adjust to their new life.
Throughout this journey, coordinator Roman was by their side. He helped with daily challenges, paperwork, and provided constant support, even when it seemed like there was no strength left to carry on. Thanks to this crucial support, Yuliia found a job and permanent housing in Kryvyi Rih.
Facing life’s hardships alone would have been much more difficult if she hadn’t had people she could trust. Save Ukraine gave Yuliia and her son a chance to start over. Today, she is convinced that even in the darkest moments, there are those who won’t let you face them alone.
💙 Thank you to everyone who supports our initiatives! Together, we help those who need it most.
