We raised funds for the rescue of Ukrainian children
Thanks to the “Children in War” exhibition, which took place last month in Vienna, we, together with Kleine Herzen, raised funds for the rescue of Ukrainian children from the territory of russia and the occupation.
The main theme of the exhibition is the large-scale problem of the deportation of Ukrainian children by russia, and the erasure of their national identity for the further use of immature consciousness as a future weapon by the Russian regime. The poignant photos show mothers trying to return their kidnapped children and moments of family reunions during our rescue missions.
The installation of 10 posters painted by the children of the orphanage in Kropyvnytskyi drew great interest from the audience. Due to russian shelling, these children had been living in the basement of the boarding school for about a month. The experiences and drawings of these children vividly show how fragile the line is between a safe life today and the risk of being kidnapped tomorrow.
On each of these works, there are fingerprints of the young authors, which symbolically remind us of those Ukrainian children who are currently becoming “unknown” on the territory of russia. And our joint commitment is to find them and return them home, to their relatives and their unique roots.
We would like to thank Pascal Vaier and her organization Kleine Herzen for their continued support of our mission to save the lives of Ukrainian children and pave the way for them to a bright future without war.
