Visit of the Canadian Minister of International Development
On August 21, we had the honor of welcoming the Canadian Minister of International Development to our center in Hatne. This visit marked a significant step for Save Ukraine and our partners, Bring Kids Back UA, in discussing support for Ukrainian children and families affected by the war.
The Minister closely examined our work and key initiatives. We shared information about our Hope and Healing Centers and showcased one of our significant projects — FortHome. This initiative involves 16 modular homes in Hatne, providing temporary shelter for those who have lost their homes due to the war. Ahmed Hussen interacted with various families living there, including those with children with disabilities, and learned about their adaptation experience.
Also, the Minister met with children and families we brought back from Russia. We discussed the possibility of collaboration between Save Ukraine and the Canadian side within the Bring Kids Back UA initiative. As the only organization implementing the complete cycle of return, rehabilitation, and reintegration of Ukrainian children, we highly value Canada’s support and interest.
We thank Minister Hussen for his visit and attention to our work. His understanding of the challenges Ukrainians face adds special significance to this meeting. We look forward to the future with optimism. And we are ready for further cooperation for the well-being of Ukrainian children.
