Training on the topic of somatic experience together with Imke Hansen
Psychologists and social workers of our day centers and “Hope and Healing” centers underwent an important two-day training on the topic of somatic experience together with Imke Hansen .
Imke Hansen is a traumatologist and researcher of the experience of violence, who has been working in the war zone in the east of Ukraine since 2015, where she conducts trauma-informational training for doctors and activists. Thanks to her organization Libereco, as well as the International initiative Feniks our specialists were able to deepen their knowledge of therapeutic work with war-affected families.
During the event, the trainer shared somatic practices in working with trauma, a protocol of actions in difficult situations in psychosocial work. The participants practiced trauma-informed actions that will help victims get out of stressful situations, regulate fear and anger, and cope with feelings of guilt and shame.
Also, our specialists received a work manual-comic book “I Can” and a set of exercises and rituals that will enrich professional practice and improve the self-regulation of the participants themselves.
We are very grateful to the organizers of the training and to Imke Hansen for these extremely valuable skills. We are sure that this knowledge will enrich and improve our psychological work with parents and children, and speed up their healing!
