Training for psychologists "The Impact of War on the Human Brain and PTSD Symptoms"
On February 26th and 27th, 15 psychologists from our centers underwent training on the topic of “The Impact of War on the Human Brain and PTSD Symptoms”. This event was part of the USAID Project “Building a Resilient Public Health System” and is a collaboration between Save Ukraine, USAID, and PACT.
During the training, coach Olena Dubovyk explained to the psychologists how war affects the human brain and the various stress reactions. Since a key goal for psychologists right now is to prevent PTSD, it’s crucial that people receive timely psychological help to avoid severe mental health complications later on.
Starting March 1st, these specialists will offer individual and group consultations in all our Community and Hope and Healing Centers, particularly in the Irpin and Gatne communities, where there is a high number of internally displaced adults and children. The plan is to reach over half of the IDP in these areas.
The aim of this joint project is to provide quality psychological assistance to as many children and their families affected by the war as possible. This project is supported by the international non-profit organization Pact and USAID. The work is gaining momentum, expanding, and we hope for support in our important mission.
