The Myth of “Those Who Were Waiting” — A Lie
Imagine that one day, armed soldiers from a neighboring country enter your city. They raise their flag, rewrite school textbooks, and force your children to learn a distorted version of history in which your country is labeled “the enemy.” They are told: take their passport, or lose your right to your home, your land, and your job.
This is the reality for millions of Ukrainians living under Russian occupation. People are forced to abandon their property, leave their homes and fields, and protect their children from forced Russification and deportation. Those who refuse face persecution, threats, and imprisonment in basements.
Russian propaganda tries to convince the world that these people “welcomed” the occupiers. This is a lie. They are not waiting for Russia—they are waiting for liberation. They want to live on their own land, speak their own language, raise their children in truth, and be masters of their own homes.
Watch their story. Share their truth.
