Yesterday, the children from one of our Hope and Healing Centers, along with representatives from Save Ukraine, attended the launch of the first Food Train. This unique kitchen train can prepare up to 10 thousand meals a day.
During the event, the children got a tour of the train before its first journey and enjoyed traditional American Thanksgiving holiday dishes.
The event was inaugurated by U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, who later joined other guests in preparing a festive dinner on the Food Train. This remarkable initiative aims to bring warmth and holiday cheer to those who risk their lives daily to keep us safe. Doctors, police officers, rescuers, and railway workers will receive special holiday meals from the Food Train, including baked turkey, potatoes, and pumpkin pie.
Yesterday, the train departed from Kyiv Central Station to Kharkiv and Izyum to express gratitude to those aiding the frontline region, helping it persevere and move towards victory with their invaluable work. The Food Train project became a reality through funding from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, which prepared 400 meals delivered by @ukrainianrailways to the Centers of Hope and Healing, as well as residents of cities in need. We appreciate @ukrainianrailways for their support in realizing this wonderful holiday initiative.
Together, we are taking a step towards a brighter future, where support and care are key components of our shared journey to victory!
