the demonstration of the new documentary film "Why Us?"
Head of Save Ukraine, Mykola Kuleba, attended the demonstration of the new documentary film “Why Us?” illustrating how war devastates the lives of Ukrainian children.
The film plot illustrates the real events during the early days of the full-scale invasion, particularly the tragic story of 4-year-old Sashko Yakhn, who died during the evacuation from Sukholuchia. The mother of the bereaved boy shared her terrifying story during the event.
“Why Us?” is released in English, targeting a Western audience. The film’s purpose is to draw global attention to the mental health issues of Ukrainian children affected by war. According to UNICEF, around 1.5 million children in Ukraine will suffer psychological trauma due to the war. Four million children already require psychological help.
The film has received five nominations at international film festivals. The creators promise a premiere in Kyiv soon.
