Heart attack caused by russian collaborators: the story of Mrs. Valentyna
“I had a neighbor upstairs… He supported Russia. He banged on my door, shouted… I was terrified,” says Mrs. Valentyna, clasping her hands.
When Russian troops entered Kherson, some locals openly welcomed the occupation. But Valentyna remained loyal to Ukraine. And for that — her own neighbors began to threaten her.
“His mother said, ‘The Russians will come — and they’ll show you,’” she recalls. The threats were constant. The ongoing fear, stress, and loneliness led to a stroke.
When the Save Ukraine team found her, she was in the hospital — in serious condition, almost bedridden. Our specialists brought her to a Hope and Healing Center. She needed special care: medical support, a social worker, a caregiver — to help her sit, eat, take a shower. And she received it.
Today, Mrs. Valentyna is undergoing rehabilitation, surrounded by attentive doctors and caring people.
“I like it here. People are kind. They understand that I can’t walk. They sympathize with me… They feed me three times a day. I want to survive. And to live to see Ukraine’s victory,” she says with hope.
We support every family on their path to safety: providing consultations, housing, psychological, legal, and medical assistance. At our Hope and Healing Centers, children and adults receive care, protection, and a chance to start a new life free of fear.
