Standing together for Ukraine’s future
Representatives of leading U.S. think tanks and organisations visit Save Ukraine centres for rescued children in Gatne community.
The @Save Ukraine team was honoured to welcome representatives of U.S. organisations, human rights activists, academics and opinion leaders. Our Hope And Healing Centre became a space for meaningful dialogue about Ukraine’s most urgent challenges: returning abducted children from occupied territories and russia, supporting survivors of sexual violence, aiding orphans, and helping families devastated by the war rebuild and stay strong. One of the key topics discussed was the role of religious communities in providing support to vulnerable children and families.
Our guests heard deeply moving stories from those who have lost their homes and loved ones. They also learned about Save Ukraine’s innovative model for providing social services and support systems designed for children who have experienced deportation or forced displacement.
One story stood out—the testimony of a bishop from Kherson whose son was kidnapped by russian occupiers. They demanded his cooperation in identifying parishioners who supported Ukraine. In exchange, the russian special forces promised to keep his children safe from torture. Despite immense pressure, he refused to betray his faith or his community. Thankfully, the bishop managed to save his family, but not everyone was so fortunate. This story speaks for thousands of people who suffer for their beliefs and identity but still hold on to their faith and resist.
The stories of kidnapped children, broken families, and the disregard for faith serve as powerful reminders that this isn’t just a Ukrainian tragedy—it’s a challenge the whole world can face.
Together, we are building a future where every child feels safe, every family is supported, and every act of courage is recognized.
🤝 We are deeply grateful to our U.S. partners for standing with us in this fight for universal values like freedom, dignity, and justice.
🔗 Let’s keep working together to make the world a place where every child has the chance to thrive.
