Save Ukraine introduced UN Ambassador to victims of Russian aggression
UPEACE Ambassador David Fernández Puyana visited Kyiv to meet children and families who suffered from russian aggression and are now receiving support from Save Ukraine as part of the Bring Kids Back initiative by the President.
His goal was to discover how Ukrainians live and reintegrate into their host communities after being saved from forcible deportation to Russia and the Russian-occupied territories. As well as find out how to facilitate peace and end the war.
Mr. Puyana began his visit from the Hope and Healing Center. He talked with families under Save Ukraine care about their experience in the aggressor state. Afterward, he attended a Center for Art Therapy and learned how the foundation’s specialists help children and adults heal through art.
He also met with Ukrainian MP and human rights advocate Iryna Suslova, founder and director of Religion Freedom Institution Olexander Zaiets, and the Head of the Diplomatic Academy Hennadii Nadolenko.
Finally, Mr. Puyana went to the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, which was targeted by Russia during their missile attack in June. He met with the doctors and little patients who continued to receive much-needed help in times of war despite difficulties.
We are grateful to Mr. Puyana for his support and the opportunity for our protectees to share their recovery stories. Together, we move toward peace.
