Save Ukraine has saved 14 more children: this is the 19th rescue mission
The Save Ukraine team has returned another 14 children from the occupied Kherson region. Among the rescued are four orphans. Just last week, we managed to save 20 young Ukrainians.
It is hard to believe today that people under occupation have to experience true horrors. But every story from there is real and impressive with its cruelty.
🔹For example, Russians came to Maryna’s house several times. They came in at 6 in the morning, broke down the door, and robbed the house. They dragged everything they saw: a microwave, a tablet, food. In Maryna’s village, the occupiers often held rallies where people were promised “a happy life, like in the USSR.”
🔹 Alina’s family also experienced hell. The occupiers similarly searched the house — they took her husband “into the cellar” where they mocked him and subjected him to various tortures. Most of all, Alina did not want her children forced to go to a Russian school and to receive Russian documents. That’s why she was looking for ways to save her family and thus joined the Save Ukraine team and received the desired help.
🔹 Svetlana’s story is no less shocking. She left with her daughter and younger sister to save them from the propaganda that was brainwashing the children in the classroom. It was dangerous to study remotely in a Ukrainian school – the Russians threatened to take away the children and deport the parents.
🔹 The story of 15-year-old Anastasiia is especially striking. She is still terrified by the rustling and clearly remembers every shelling, especially the one she came under in her home. Nastia did not immediately realize that she was holding a fragment in her hands. Then, she was stunned and injured. At that moment, the girl thought that she would never be able to hear sounds again.
These stories of the victims of Russian aggression encourage us not to stop in our crucial work. Despite the challenges and difficulties, our team continues to work tirelessly, and as of today, Save Ukraine has already returned 315 Ukrainian children from TOT and Russia.
We are sincerely grateful to the key partners @weareallukrainians2022 and the Charity Fund Humanity. Without their support, our mission would not be possible. Only by consolidating our efforts can we change the fate of Ukrainian children for the better and give them a chance for a safe future.
P.S. The names of the characters have been changed for security reasons.
