Russian Strike Damages Save Ukraine’s Art Center
Today I am addressing you from our art center for kids who were rescued from Russia, occupied territories and war zones. Yesterday there were children here, whom we were treating for trauma. Their voices were heard here, here they drew, sang, recovered. And today — silence. This night, one of the missiles launched by russia fell very close, killing and injuring sleeping people, children, destroying houses, shattering thousands of windows, and damaging our center.
Many of our employees are people whom we previously evacuated ourselves from combat zones and from occupations. Several of our employees today Russia has again deprived of housing. Fortunately, they are alive. And we are providing them with assistance.
That same night, russians once again struck Ukraine with missiles and shaheds. In Kyiv, they killed a six-year-old boy. Injured ten more children. The youngest of them — only five months old. This is the largest number of affected children in one night since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Just in the last three months by shelling peaceful cities russians have killed and injured 223 children. And since the beginning of the invasion — almost three thousand. Because the Kremlin’s goal is complete destruction of the Ukrainian population.
Yesterday in Geneva, Russian Federation representative Valentina Matvienko stated that the RF invaded Ukraine to “stop the bloodshed” and restore peace. This is another manipulation by russia to justify its numerous crimes against the civilian population. Because it is due to russian aggression that our children and their parents die every day.
We call on the world to act. We demand sanctions, effective decisions, and punishment for war criminals. Because today we are burying more children killed by russia.
We will not stop and will continue to save children. My appeal to you is to help us stop the terrorist state russia. Whoever you are! Your voice in this war is important. And your action is important!
In the Bible it is written “Whoever shuts his ears to the cry will himself call out — and not be heard.”
