Representatives from the European Parliament visited Save Ukraine
The head of Save Ukraine, @Mykola Kuleba, met with European Parliament representatives at the Hope and Healing Center in Hatne. Together with the European guests, they discussed urgent issues related to assisting Ukrainian families evacuated from occupied territories and Russia. Special attention was given to the issue of children born under occupation. Russia forces parents to issue Russian birth certificates for them, which deprives children of their right to legally leave for the EU.
“Additionally, there is a great risk that when our children turn 18, they will be arrested and sent to the Russian army,” noted the head of Save Ukraine.
A potential solution could be simplifying the process of obtaining Schengen visas for Ukrainian children with Russian passports. This is why the meeting with the European Parliament representatives was of utmost importance. Through our joint efforts, we can make the path to safety easier for our families and children. So, we continue to work on this!
Thank you to our partners for the fruitful meeting and their readiness to support Ukrainian children.
