Rebuilding Ukraine doesn’t start with concrete — it starts with restoring people
This week, we had the honor of welcoming the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Mr. Carlo Formosa, to our Hope and Healing Center.
During the visit, we spoke about what truly matters: rebuilding Ukraine begins with supporting children, families, and communities that have endured occupation, deportation, and war. We showed how the Save Ukraine team helps rescued children and families adapt to new conditions and rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.
We also shared something that makes our organization truly special — many of our colleagues are themselves parents who were once rescued by Save Ukraine. Today, they work alongside us, helping other families find safety and healing. This is what real recovery looks like: when those who were once saved become the ones who save others.
Ambassador Formosa was deeply moved by the stories of our children and families. He emphasized that the world needs to hear these voices — because in Italy, as in many European countries, people still know too little about the scale of Russia’s abduction of Ukrainian children. He expressed his readiness to help amplify this truth, and we are sincerely grateful for that.
We believe this visit marks the beginning of a new friendship — and that Italy will become our partner in a shared mission: to rescue children and rebuild Ukraine.
