From Despair to a New Life: Marina’s Story
When it feels like the world is falling apart, it’s hard to believe that peace will ever return. Marina lost everything—her home, her job, her familiar life. She fled relentless shelling in Donetsk with her young son, leaving her past behind. Helplessness and fear became her daily companions.
Her first meetings with psychologist Dariia Zahraniuk were not easy. Marina felt distrust, pain, and isolation. But step by step, she began to find solid ground. Together, they worked through her trauma, learned to manage emotions, and looked toward the future without fear.
“These exercises helped me realize that I can control my thoughts and emotions. I started believing that good things can still happen in my life,” Marina says today.
She is learning to live again, making plans, and filling her days with new meaning. Her story is no longer just about loss—it’s about strength and hope. And this is only the beginning of her new journey.
