International Peace Day
Today the whole world celebrates the International Peace Day, a holiday dedicated to peace and harmony among all peoples. This day reminds us of our common ideals of peace and harmony that should prevail throughout the world.
But for Ukraine, this is the second time that the Day of Peace has not been peaceful. For the 575th day in a row, a bloody full-scale war unleashed by russia has been going on in our land. This war has claimed the lives of thousands of people, destroyed cities and villages, and forced millions of Ukrainians to flee their homes. Many of these victims are children. Even tonight, by firing 40 cruise missiles at Ukraine, the russians reminded the world that peace does not exist for them.
But despite all the troubles the enemy has brought to Ukraine, we dream of peace. We dream that our children can live in a peaceful country. We dream of bringing home those who were forced to leave. This path will not be easy. That is why we all need to unite so that peace in the world can prevail.
