Today, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, we reflect on the touching moments of our struggle for sovereignty. Thirty-three years ago, we chose the path of freedom, and now, more than ever, we understand the price of this fateful choice.

Like a resilient marathon runner, Ukraine is overcoming the most challenging distance in its history. We have endured revolutions that lit the fire of change, blows that tempered our will, falls that taught us resilience, and flights that revealed the strength of our unity. But the most brutal challenge has been the war, demanding incredible courage and endurance from us.

In this marathon, Save Ukraine extends a helping hand to the most vulnerable. The future of Ukraine lives in the smiles of the children we bring home and in the strong embraces of families, we help reunite. It is our contribution to the Independence that Ukrainians fight for every day.

Despite all the trials, we know that ahead of us lies not just a finish line but a new dawn for a free Ukraine — with peace in every corner and freedom for every citizen.
