"Hansen's Town" opened the third stage: the complex became a home for children rescued by Save Ukraine
The head of the Save Ukraine Fund, Mykola Kuleba, took part in the ceremonial opening of the third stage of “Hansen’s Town”. It’s a complex of free accommodation for internally displaced persons who suffered from the war in Ukraine.
During the event, 24 IDP families received new apartments. A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the construction capsule of the future Hansen Village Academy school for 700 students.
“Hansen’s Town” was designed for 421 families and became a shelter for 217 families, including seven family-type children’s homes from different regions of Ukraine. Families in difficult life circumstances, including veterans, prisoners of war, people with disabilities, seriously ill, and low-income pensioners, are provided with housing.
“The residential complex has already taken in ten of our families, including children with disabilities and children we returned from Russia and TOT. It’s an excellent assistance model and creates new opportunities for families who lost everything due to the war and were traumatized,” Mykola Kuleba said.
The donors plan to build a school, children’s clubs, sports grounds, and new residential buildings. “Hansen’s Town” will also shelter evacuees and foster families. All houses are equipped with bomb shelters and adapted for the living of people with disabilities.
