Exactly one year ago, Save Ukraine’s first rescue mission ended. It was on November 8, 2022, that we returned to Ukraine the first 8 children from the Kharkiv region who had been sent by the occupation authorities “on vacation”.
For seven months, these families lived under occupation and endured all the abuse of the russian army. And shortly before the Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive, the parents were persuaded [i.e. forced] to send their children to the temporarily occupied Crimea for a vacation. However, after the de-occupation of the region, no one returned the children.
Luckily, the mothers found our organization and asked for help in getting their children back. That’s how our work in this area began.
Since then, Save Ukraine has managed to take 200 children from russia and the temporarily occupied territories.
We thank everyone who contributed to this important cause.
We are not going to stop there. This is only the first year. There will be more to come. If you also want to help save Ukrainian children, please follow the link:
