Every life saved is thanks to you
When Ksenia Koldin finally returned to Ukraine with her younger brother, she could hardly believe that this day had come.
Ksenia and Serhii are orphans. Before the full-scale war, they lived in a foster family. But when Russia occupied their hometown of Vovchansk on February 24, 2022, their lives changed forever. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of their hardship.
That summer, under the pretense of “rehabilitation,” Serhii was sent to a Russian camp—and wasn’t brought back from it. Around the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the occupied Kharkiv region, so Serhii continued to stay in Russia. There, he was quickly placed with a Russian foster family.
Ksenia couldn’t accept being separated from the closest person she had—her brother. So as soon as she turned 18, she made the boldest decision of her life—to go to Russia and bring him home. She promised herself that she wouldn’t return to Ukraine without him.
Today, their lives have completely changed. Serhii is growing up in a loving foster family, and Ksenia is studying journalism. But most importantly, she has become a global voice for deported Ukrainian children. Now, her story is heard on the world’s biggest stages.
Ksenia and Serhii are one of hundreds of successful Save Ukraine rescue stories of children taken from Russian hands. Today, that number is nearing 600, including 132 orphans. But these are not just numbers.
These are children’s lives, shattered by war—lives we haven’t just saved but also helped restore their faith in a happy future.
We are deeply grateful to WeAreAllUkrainians, Hala, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Reload Love, the Polsky Foundation, CUF, the Temerty Foundation, the Longer Tables Fund, A Family for Every Orphan, Kleine Herzen, Ron Wahid, and everyone who has supported our rescue missions—through donations, logistical help, or simply by refusing to look away.
Your support is more than just charity. It’s a chance. It’s a rescue. It’s a homecoming.
Thank you for believing in our mission. Thank you for making a difference.
Together, we will bring every Ukrainian child home.
