Evacuation chronicle: July
On the 31st day of the previous month, our rescuers evacuated 920 people from the country’s frontline territories. We took families from the Kherson region and Luhansk region, children with disabilities from Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, and people with limited mobility from the Sumy region and Zaporizhzhia.
Some people have lost their homes, and someone is simply tired of constant shelling and threats to their lives and the lives of their relatives. They couldn’t leave by themselves, so they requested to Save Ukraine. Our team evacuated Ukrainians to safe places by special transport, buses, cars, and trains (thanks @Ukrzaliznytsia).
Most of the rescued families are now in our “Hope and Healing” centers and Save Ukraine partner hubs across the country, and disabled Ukrainians are in care centers for disabled people in Lviv Oblast and Dnipro. Here, our volunteers continue to provide complete assistance to people and restore their lives: we take families to medical and social institutions, children – to various creative, sports, and educational events, and we help elderly people go abroad to their relatives.
We are glad to save the lives of Ukrainians and help children and adults cope with all the challenges of fate so that they continue their journey in safety with faith in the future. Because we, the people of Ukraine, are one family and must support each other in the darkest times. Unity is our great strength.
