Christmas and New Year are times when closeness to loved ones feels especially important. Although our residents are far from home, they were able to experience warmth and comfort during these special days thanks to shared holiday meals, greetings from volunteers, and the heartfelt care of our team. The centers became places filled with a family atmosphere: carols, gifts, and heartfelt conversations created a mood full of light and joy. Laughter echoed in every corner, and hope and faith in a brighter future were rekindled in every heart.

This year, residents of our centers for people with limited mobility and seniors in Irpin and Kamianka-Buzka celebrated the holidays surrounded by volunteers, guests, and our team. Festive meals, gifts, carols, and art therapy helped create an atmosphere of family warmth even during challenging times. Volunteers from Hope4Ukraine.nl, Fight For Freedom International, and local religious communities visited the center in Irpin with gifts, support, and heartfelt wishes for peace. Children from Hatne sang carols, and adults from religious communities shared heartfelt greetings. Our residents felt the warmth of a family Christmas.

Despite the holidays, art therapy sessions at our centers continued. These sessions help our residents find peace, emotional balance, and inspiration in challenging times.

In Kamianka-Buzka, the celebration brought everyone together at one table. Together with the pastor of a local church, residents prayed for peace in Ukraine, sang songs, and received sweet holiday gifts. Even during the holidays, we kept working. Evacuations, care, psychological support, and medical assistance—our team worked tirelessly to ensure comfort for all our residents.

The Save Ukraine team prepared small surprises for our residents to ensure everyone felt cared for and joyful during these challenging times. Together, we bring warmth even on the coldest days.
