Children rescued from russian deportation share their stories in Washington
Daiana, Denis, Lisa, Ksenia, and Rostyslav — children our team helped escape Russian deportation — shared their experiences with American educators, activists, community leaders, and government officials at Ukraine House in Washington.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Ukraine’s Ambassador to the USA, Oksana Markarova, Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets, Randi Weingarten, the President of the American Federation of Teachers, and Eli Rosenbaum, a renowned American civil rights advocate and former head of the US Department of Justice.
The young speakers captivated the audience with their stories of enduring Russian psychological pressure, keeping their faith in Ukraine, and their relentless efforts to return home. The organizers highlighted that the resilience and bravery of these children illustrate the urgent need to continue our fight for their future, facing all challenges with unwavering determination.
