Joy, satisfaction, and a bunch of positive emotions were experienced by the children of Save Ukraine last weekend on the ice rink.

Children we brought back from temporarily occupied territories and Russia had dreamt of skating since the beginning of the new year. So, our team decided not to miss the chance to make these winter dreams come true for the children and give them a taste of this winter fairy tale. Especially considering their need for warm moments nowadays after what they’ve been through.

Although Save Ukraine workers are far from figure skating champions, it didn’t stop everyone from having fun and enjoying a family-like atmosphere. Together with the children, they raced, supported each other, and, just a little bit, fell down.

Each of these days carries more children’s smiles. The fear we saw in the eyes of the children right after returning to Ukraine is gradually fading away. Their hearts are filled with peace and confidence, their eyes shining with kindness, joy, and a desire to change the world for the better. It means we are moving in the right direction and capable of giving our children a happy childhood back.
