British ministers visited the Save Ukraine Community Center
We are starting the week welcoming honored guests — a delegation headed by Martin Fergus Harris, British Ambassador to Ukraine, with ministers David Lammy and John Healey.
Distinguished visitors got acquainted with the work of our center in Irpin. They were pleased to see the training spaces and massage rooms adapted for children with disabilities. The interactive floor on the second floor, as well as creative workshops, grabbed the attention. In addition, the guests highlighted an English language learning program for children affected by Russian aggression, implemented with the support of the British Government.
During the excursion, the guests also talked to children attending classes at the center. Mykola Kuleba, the founder and CEO of Save Ukraine, told British officials about the project team’s plans. It’s to create a bomb shelter with workshops, provide housing for foster families and orphans, and to build a rehabilitation center for the integration of children with disabilities into society.
The guests met with Rostyslav, Daiana, and Denys — children whom we returned from Russian deportation. The children told their stories and shared their dreams for the future. British officials were deeply moved by what they heard.
The delegation also got acquainted with our Fort Home project, which helps the families to get comfortable living conditions.
At the end of the meeting, guests got presents — a Ukrainian flag and pictures of our children.
The British highly appreciated the activities of Save Ukraine and underlined their commitment to continue supporting our efforts to protect the rights and reintegration of children affected by the war.
