Australian Ambassador visits Save Ukraine centers in Irpin
During a recent visit to Irpin, we had the honor of sharing our work with Australian Ambassador Paul Lehmann.
At Save Ukraine, we proudly invite our supporters to visit our project locations and witness firsthand the platforms where we are building new centers of hope and healing. These centers focus on social reintegration for families and children impacted by the war. During a recent visit to Irpin, we had the honor of sharing our work with Australian Ambassador Paul Lehmann.
Though renovations are ongoing, the early intervention centers we’ve established are already creating meaningful change for children and their families. Our social taxi program, which ensures people with disabilities can access essential services, is another critical initiative that’s making a difference.
One of the highlights of our visit was introducing our modular town, where families—especially those with children and individuals with disabilities—currently live. It was heartwarming to watch the children at our center eagerly point to Australia on a map and interact with our innovative educational tools, like the interactive floor, which captivated the attention of our guests.
As we walked through Irpin, it was impossible to ignore the tragic echoes of the war’s early days in 2022. Irpin, once a peaceful suburban haven, became a symbol of unimaginable loss. Families were forced to flee under constant shelling, and many innocent lives, including children, were cut short during the brutal occupation. Yet amidst this history of devastation, the resilience of Irpin’s people continues to inspire us.
At the end of our meeting, we presented Ambassador Lehmann with a Ukrainian flag and handmade toys lovingly created by the children—a small token of our gratitude for Australia’s unwavering support of our work and our country.
