Another step on the way to building a great community
We started the mobile kindergarten project, which we are implementing in the suburbs of Kyiv in Irpin Hero City. It will open with the support of Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn, Maryna Popatenko, Head of the Board of the Association of Youth Workers in Ukraine, and the Children’s Development Fund (Poland). This kindergarten will be called Spynka (“Spin”), which symbolizes support in both Ukrainian and Polish languages. Similar centers already operate throughout Poland and cover more than 13,000 children.
Currently, more than 20,000 internally displaced persons live in Irpin. These people had to leave their homes due to hostilities, and many of them needed essential services: access to education, health care, and housing. Now, more than ever, it is important to become a beacon of stability for them in times of uncertainty. Regular training helps them to return to a normal rhythm of life, which is critical for their mental health and social adaptation.
Our special thanks to the Choose Love Foundation and Mr. Jim Datin for funding the project. And also the Children’s Development Foundation, who worked very hard to create this kindergarten.
We are confident that we will cope with this challenge because we already have a Civic Center project that performs educational functions, helps children with disabilities, and provides rehabilitation services.
