A New Joint Project Presented in Vienna: Save Ukraine & Rotary Launch a Support Center for Mothers and Babies
Save Ukraine had the honor to participate in the charity dinner hosted by Rotary Club Vienna Maria Theresia in Vienna — an evening that united people deeply committed to supporting Ukrainian children through real, meaningful action.
Our founder, Mykola Kuleba, attended the event and spoke about what Ukrainian children and young mothers are experiencing during the war: giving birth in damaged hospitals, often without electricity and under air-raid sirens; children rescued from dangerous areas who face trauma, stress, or developmental delays.
He also shared the small but powerful victories our team witnesses every day — when a child who couldn’t stand takes their first step, or says their first word. These moments remind us all why this work is so important.
Together with our partners from Rotary, we presented our new joint initiative — Rotary Sure Start, a support center for pregnant women, young mothers, and children from birth to four years old.
This center will provide safe deliveries, early childhood development support, trauma and stress assistance, consultations with specialists, and early intervention services — the support families urgently need during wartime.
The project is a collaboration between Save Ukraine, Rotary Club Vienna Maria Theresia, and Rotary Club Kyiv Balzac — a powerful example of international partnership in action.
We are sincerely grateful to Austria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, for her kind words and her attention to the needs of Ukrainian children. It was especially meaningful to us that she chose children’s drawings from our center for her official Christmas cards.
Our deepest thanks go to Rotary Club Vienna Maria Theresia, Rotary Club Kyiv Balzac, and all our partners and friends who believe in our mission.
Together, we are not only saving children — we are helping them begin their lives anew.
