A day of "little dreams" and big talents
Our center in Irpin, which supports people with limited mobility, hosted a special day on the last Saturday of January called the ‘Day of Little Dreams and Big Talents’. The day started with morning exercises accompanied by songs. Then we had workshops on drawing and clay modeling. A highlight of the day was the first mini-concert by a young, talented musician from our center. She performed her own song, set to music by a professional musician.
It was an amazing concert. The young musician has cerebral palsy, so what might be simple for other kids is a big challenge for her. This is true for all the kids at our center. Despite their health challenges, they are very talented. Our main goal is to recognize and nurture these talents, which is what we do here.
Most of the children at our center have experienced the difficulties of occupation and evacuation. Now, they and their families live in 17 modular houses we’ve built on the center’s grounds in Irpin. Although the city itself faced hardships in the first month of the war, it is now a lively place where many Ukrainians are working towards a happy future.
