7 more Ukrainian children returned home!
On July 24, 2024, seven Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories returned to Ukraine within the Bring Kids Back UA initiative and thanks to the united efforts led by our team.
Who are the kids returned?
A 12-year-old girl whose parents serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces; they searched long for an opportunity to evacuate their daughter, as children of military personnel are closely monitored.
Two brothers, aged 15 and 19. The FSB detained their parents over a month ago, and they are currently victims of enforced disappearance. The Russian special services also questioned the older brother. Boys were difficult to extract from the occupation, will now be temporarily cared for by their godmother.
An 18-year-old boy and a 19-year-old girl, orphans from a foster family in the Kherson region. They received threats due to their pro-Ukrainian stance. Ukraine will now provide their placement in family-based care and necessary support.
A 14-year-old boy, who was unable to leave the temporarily occupied territory due to a destruction of a bridge by Russian forces, is eventually reunited with his mother after years of being apart.
The 7th child is a teenage boy. His mother is still under occupation.
Our Ukrainian children are back home!
Since 2014, 1.5 million Ukrainian children have found themselves in occupied territories and on the territory of the Russian Federation. Many of them were illegally deported or forcibly displaced, while the rest remain at risk of deportation, all of them currently subjected to Russian indoctrination. Under the highest threat is to those who refuse to accept Russian citizenship, attend classes filled with Russian propaganda, or join paramilitary groups.
Russia continues to implement its policy of eradicating Ukrainian identity. Without safe evacuation routes, and living under forced Russification, military indoctrination, and the threat of deportation, Ukrainian children on the temporarily occupied territories urgently need our protection.
Ukraine is committed to fighting for its future and does everything possible to ensure that every single Ukrainian child is safe 🇺🇦
