7 kids & teenagers rescued from occupation last week by Save Ukraine team
7 children and teenagers were rescued from russian occupation by the Save Ukraine team this week. This became possible thanks to the support of partners within the framework of the President of Ukraine’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA. Each of them endured pressure, threats, and attempts at “re-education” — but today, that is finally behind them.
Among those rescued:
🔹 18-year-old Iryna was forcibly enrolled in the “Movement of the First” at school — a modern-day equivalent of the Soviet pioneer movement. Every morning, she was forced to sing the russian anthem, while any mention of Ukraine in any form was strictly forbidden.
🔹17-year-old Oleksii was threatened by russian forces with a stun gun, while armed searches were carried out in his home twice. When electricity, water, and internet access disappeared from his house, he realized there was no future for him under occupation.
🔹19-year-old Fedir studied at a college where russian soldiers launched combat drones directly above the students’ heads to demonstrate how the unmanned aircraft operated. After these so-called “demonstrations,” he and other students were pressured to sign contracts with the russian army.
For these teenagers and the others rescued alongside them, occupation is now part of the past. Today, they are recovering at our Hope and Healing Centers, where they receive comprehensive psychological support, assistance with documents, and safe, comfortable housing to help them start over
Yet thousands of children still remain trapped in occupied territories, where they are forced to forget their roots and are openly being prepared for war. But we will not stop.
We are grateful to our partners Wladimir Klitschko, Tatjana Kiel, WeAreAllUkrainians, and the Joint Center for Coordination of Search and Release — together, we are bringing Ukrainian children home.
Thanks to Save Ukraine, more than 1,300 children are already back home.
